Web Hosting

This is an area that confuses people terribly. If you think you need a website for your business but haven't got a clue where to start - I can take care of everything for you.

I will first ask you to choose a 'domain name' - TheComputerChap.com is the 'domain name' of this webite. A domain name costs $15 for 12 months - a little cheaper if you purchase for 2 or 5 years.

Once you have the domain name for your website, it has to be 'hosted' somewhere - in other words, your site has to live on a server so people on the Internet can access it. This costs $10 per month and will allow you to have as many e-mail addresses as you want dave@thecomputerchap.com, for example, and an incredibale amount of other bells and whistles - just ask - you'll be amazed.

If you'd like me to sort all this nonsense out for you, for $120 per annum, I will obtain your domain name and host your site for 12 months.

If you'd like a simple site like this I can throw one together for you for $200. If you want something more complicated we will either have to talk or you'll have to ask someone else as I am not real bright when it comes to flashy websites!! :)

So, by my calculations, your business on-line for a year for only $320 and $120 per annum after that. As I mentioned before - a couple of sales and it's paid for.

Hosting and E-Mail?

Don't worry if you haven't got a clue what you are doing - because I do (most of the time, anyway) If you know how to get to a website and know how to send and receive e-mail - I will take care of the rest for you - there's no need to even try to understand it.
